WHO WE ARE
SteamWorks Academy founded in 2009, we grew rapidly from 14 students to more than 220 students at our Belmont Campuses. Since 2013 we expanded to our second and third campuses at Belmont and Redwood Shores, which covers Belmont-Redwood shore and San Carlos School Districts, and partially San Mateo-Foster City School District.
Our seasoned and talented coaches have combined over 100 years of experience in computer science, engineering, education and entreprenuership. We are striving to nurture an environment that allows students to create something that interests them and encourages them to explore various ways to solve different problems.
SteamWorks Academy is an equal opportunity school that offers a diverse, fun, and multi-cultural environment that encourages learning to all students.
WHAT WE DO
For 1st- 5th grade students, we offer the full spectrum of STEAM courses, which enable them to engage in hands-on, experiential learning. Students are often using different materials and tools in order to discover how something works, how to build it, and how to fix it. In our classrooms, students join in activities that combine different elements of STEAM, as they experience guided inquiry in which they must ask thoughtful questions, discover answers, apply what they learn and problem-solve creatively. For language lessons, each grade will get small group (6-8 students) English tutoring by CA credential elementary teachers. We also have Mandarin and Spanish classes for non-native speaking families.
For kindergarteners, our STEAM classes focus on the Language, Art and Math components. We have craft, abacus, drawing, dancing, piano, voice, martial art and Chinese-immersion classes at different levels. Kindergarten kids usually get 40 minutes outdoor play time daily.
We also offer full day camps when school has holidays and during summer and winter breaks.
We care and value every student inside our camps. Children learn to respect and how to behave. We encourage every student to have a positive attitude, and we enjoy working with parents to help their children grow.
